SkyrimDuckSays ………. Challenge Accepted!

Since my Xbox One first came out of its box pretty much all I have played so far has been my Rayman Legends freebie. For a game that I have previously owned but hardly ever touched in the past, I myself am surprised by how much I can’t stop playing. Now, don’t for one minute think that what I’m saying is that I’m surprised that it’s a good game because I am and always have been a big Rayman fan. I was just busy with other games when it was first released.

Now that I’ve been playing for about a week I’ve started to hit some of the trickier levels and I am really feeling the strain. As much as I do get angry when I reach more infuriating parts I am also glad that they’re there. After all where is the fun in a game that you breeze through and that leaves you with no sense of achievement whatsoever when you complete it. At least I can say I feel proud of myself when I do complete seemingly impossible levels. What makes me feel even better though is doing well in the challenges. That makes me feel, I believe the word is, top.

SkyrimDuckSays………. I’ve found The One!

Having finally caught up with the rest of world by joining Twitter the next logical step for me was to also update the way in which I game. This could only mean one thing (get it?). Xbox One!

I do feel a degree of sadness in leaving my long serving 360 behind. However, as a duck who is always looking around for what I’m going to be doing next, being able to switch so quickly between doing one thing and then going straight onto the next more than makes up for any upset I may have felt. Also free Assassins Creed twice is not something to be looked down upon. If I am honest, which I generally am, Rogue was something of a disappointment to me for reasons I’m sure I will get around to blogging about at another time. However, I’m hoping that Unity will prove to be better than what the critics have said it is. I greatly enjoyed the Black Flag multiplayer on the Xbox 360 so I’m quite excited to revisit that on a next gen console.

Having now bought Minecraft and Terraria, and downloading my two freebies for the month I am now ready and raring to go. However, KingDuck has come over and taken over with his newly purchased Battlefield Hardline. Hopefully we’ll have many happy years ahead of us though. Me and my Xbox that is.

SkryimDuckSays ………. I am Bioshocked

When I switched on my Xbox 360 this morning I joyfully remembered that it is the 16th of the month. Now we all know what that means. Free games. I had been told that the second game this month following Tomb Raider was Bioshock Infinite but I had just plain forgot. So when I saw that this was the game I was being given I was rather a happy duck. I will say though I am quite surprised that they are giving away the newest Bioshock game rather than one of the older ones. But I’m definitely not going to complain. Thank you very much Xbox you’ve just made my day.

SkyrimDuckSays ………. I’m So Down with the Kids!

I have finally caught up with the latest in technology and signed myself up as a member of the lovely (or so I’m hoping) Twitter community. SkyrimDuckSays is intended to be written as a bite size view on the world of gaming. Posting to Twitter allows me to condense this even further and share even more of my life with you wonderful people. So please follow me at what else @skyrimducksays

SkyrimDuckSays……….. So Ducking Mad!

Everyone has that one game (at the very least) that brings out uncontrollable rage in them. Even the most placid man (or woman) can be forced to unleash the inner beast when faced with an irritatingly difficult game. For me at the minute my rage game is Tropico 5. I spent the entirety of a Monday night attempting over and over again to beat just one mission. Three weeks later and I am no further in the game. In actual fact I’ve gone backwards by restarting the campaign in the hopes that by the time I meet this ridiculous challenge again I will be better prepared. I have played this specific mission so many times now that I know exactly where I have been going wrong and no matter how I change the way I approach the challenge it makes no difference to the outcome whatsoever. If I keep the people happy I run out of time. If I rush to do what I need to do in the set time limit my people rise up against me. In fact no matter what I do the people rebel. This game has gotten me so frustrated that I have actually had to walk away from it and have instead been playing Dragon Age 2. Whether or not I will ever complete that mission I have no idea. But as with a bad relationship I need some space right now.

Time for the Borderlands

I am beyond happy to hear that Tales from the Borderlands Episode 2 is finally about to make its way on to my Xbox. It feels like a long long time ago since I played Episode 1 and I may find myself needing something of a recap of previous events before I get stuck back in. However, I’m sure that once I start the game up it will feel like no time has passed at all. As an overall fan of the Borderlands series of games, Tales from the Borderlands Episode 1 was such an enjoyable experience for me and I found myself to be very impressed with the game, particularly with all the little nods towards elements of previous borderlands games. Hopefully Episode 2 will live up to all my expectations. Buying the season pass before you’ve even played the first episode is always a gamble but with any luck it will be a gamble that pays off for this little duck.

SkrimDuckSays ………. So Grown Up I Can’t Even Believe It!

I am now officially a big person, erm I meant duck. Obviously. Me and KingDuck are currently in the process of moving into a house together. As a duck I simply can’t wait for all the bills. Get it? Bills. So just in case you were worried on hearing this news that the immature, silly, game playing duck that you all know and love will become a proper adult I would like to share with you a picture of the very first box that I have that is packed and ready to go.

As you can see I am more than ready for grown up life with all of my most grown up things. Especially my Skyrim Premium Edition! What house doesn’t need Rabbids, a Creeper and Minecraft Lego. Ours certainly does.

SkyrimDuckSays……….I’m Back and I’m in Mourning

After what I would imagine to have been something of a noticeable absence I would first and foremost like to apologise to my readers. I return to you slightly older but to be perfectly honest not a whole lot wiser. However, I do bring with me plenty of new opinions and stories about the world of gaming and technology in general that I hope you will find to be both enlightening and entertaining. As always there will also be pictures of me aplenty. I’m still the same old vain little duck after all.

I would like to start off this brand new chapter in our friendships by telling you about the horrible atrocities that I committed yesterday afternoon. After skirting around the issue for far too long and with no other options left to turn to I finally deleted all 5.4GB of Skyrim saves from my hard drive and ever since the world has seemed like a slightly darker place. After all without Skyrim I literally wouldn’t be who I am today. I would just be plain old Bill Duck. An ordinary duck in a very silly hat.

SkyrimDuckSays ………. R.I.P Skyrim

image

After months of waiting for news regarding the release of any new dlc for Skyrim I was one particularly disappointed duck today when Bethesda announced that they are putting Skyrim to one side to concentrate on new projects. I’m sure you will all join me in this period of mourning and what is for me a sad sad time. Farewell Skyrim I shall never forget you and the times we spent together.
